now I'm constantly treating my seals with rubber uv protectants to keep them in like new condition, however they still can make a rubbing noise or a squeak of sorts. I found if I waxed the painted metal surfaces where the seals come in contact, including around the trunk lid, that the noises are greatly reduced. I use a 3M wax that really stands up well for much longer than any other products I have used in the past and is easy to use. I don't want to use a oil or grease on the painted metal or seals that would catch dirt or cause the seals to deteroirate over time. The product # is 39526, but any good wax will probably work fine. just make sure your surface is clean and use only on the painted metal
