for the stereo you'll need a couple of keys you can get at a dealer or on ebay and insert them into the small slots on each side of the unit. I assume you're talking about the shifter to transmission linkage bushing underneath that is a common problem. the bushing is a real sob to replace without a lift. if you don't want to drop the exhaust to remove the heat shield it's a one handed operation. loosen the shield to get a little more room. It's not so hard to get the clip off as it is to put it back on again. however if you know this trick it's not as much a problem. I put a nail into to the clip to keep it open and when in place pull the nail. took me a hour or so to figure that one out and made the one handed operation easier. as you know there's not much room to work with all the hardware in the way. good luck.
