Sl 400 ?
The E-class has been unveiled with a new engine labeled as the E 400.
This new engine has amazing figures :
V6, 2.996cc, 333 hp (@5.250 - 6.000) with torque of 480 Nm (@1.600 - 4.000)
consumption figure : 7,5 l so low CO2 emissions..
Any chance that this engine will also be used in the SL range ??
I have test driven both cars :
SL 350 accelerates nicely, but : very noisy during acceleration (lack of torque at low revs)
SL 500/550 very quick and lots of torque, always serene during acceleration
the 500 is the only engine amongst both which is SL worthy in my eyes..
but CO2 emissions and taxes are high..
If the SL 400 would enter the market, it would be the best of both worlds..

Why would it dilute the market ?
They can drop the SL 350 and introduce a SL 400..
the SL 400 is a biturbo, whereas the SL 350 is atmopheric, would make a huge difference..
