Default Wiper blades on E320

I have a 2005 E320 CDI. The windshield wipers seem very noisy (clunky) when operating, especially when on intermittent. The blades are also pretty squeaky. I changed out old blades to aftermarket, still squeaky. Should I just suck it up and by the blades from the dealer? Also, any suggestions on the wiper mechanism itself. It just seems very very noisy.

Thanks

If you go to the dealer, ask for the "authentic Mercedes Benz wiper". It will be approx $75. It may have the MB symbol or the bosch symbol, and will come in the MB packaging. It will be substancially thicker in metal gauge, stronger, quieter, have a stronger grip on the assembly arm, a better fit, will not make much noise, will last for years, and basically restoreit's portion of the wiper assembly to its proper quality level. "Idiots/liars" that claim that their after-market parts are the "same" are are lying. What they should say is "it will fit, with a substancial sacrifice in quality", in most cases, especially regarding wipers. Now you can get a wiper blade at wall-mart for $10 approximately, I had one, even a bosch brand one, but once you try both, you will see that there is a huge difference.

Authentic MB wiper blades aren't worth it because the rubber insert doesn't last any longer than aftermarket replacements. Only you get the "privilege" of paying $80 bucks for a new blade/insert assembly. Been there, done that, was an "idiot" for believing the OEM's would last longer.

I get longer, quieter use from Rain-X Latitude silicone blades on the rest of my vehicles at $20/per blade. However, at least on a 2000 S500, none of the Rain-X Latitude adapters will mate properly with the wiper arm (J hook is too wide). Nothing you cant fix with a little grinding.

Don't believe you have to buy a MB battery too. That's a whole nother crock of ****.
