Default 190e Fan Switch Removal

Hello Everyone!

I'm having trouble removing the fan switch in my 89 190e. I have looked on the sides of the upright center console that it sits in for screws, but cannot find any. I assume one needs to remove this console to get to the fan switch? Has anyone done this before or have any ideas? Do I need to remove part of the dash or lower shifter console?

Thanks for any help,

Todd

Default RE: 190e Fan Switch Removal

I just replaced my switch last month. You grab the center vents with pliers (wrap the tips with a rag) and pull them straight out. You will see the (2) screws. You'll have to pull off the **** on the switch lever and the wood molding behind the ****. There are 2 clips that hold the temperature control in the dash. Lift each clip up with a pointed tool and remove the module. You have to remove it so the blower switch can come out that hole. I bought my new switch for $95.00 online. They are expensive.
Good luck.
