W203 220 Cdi Cold start problem engine cuts out
Hi Everyone, i'm a relative newbie to the forum in terms of postin so forgive me if this has been posted and solved but i have searched for any similar problems.
I have a 2001 W203 CDi.
When starting on a morning the engine runs for approx 5secs then cuts out. It takes several minutes to re-start. ( as if the fuel is drained from the filter )
There is no warning lights or any clues there could be a fault as the car drives and starts perfect after this initial problem.
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers in advance for any tips...

RE: W203 Cdi Cold start problem engine cuts out
Thanks for the response Cruiser.
To post an update i 'bit the bullet' and booked the car into the dealer for repair.
The diagnosis:
The low pressure fuel hoses were faulty???
(Seems strange as would of expected to have a fault all the time if it was fuel lines and not just when cold???)
The Cost to repair:
£50 for new pipes ( 3 lines replaced in total )
£200 for labour and diagnosis..[] ( ouch )
Grumbling aside the car started perfect this morning so hopefully that has solved the issue. I will post an update if required..
Thanks to all and take care....

I think you dont need new pipes.
Only 4 new O-RINGs ( size 8 x 2,5 mm ) on the ends.
One this pipe is going from fuel filter to small pump and the second is going from small pump to big pump.
I was reparing this problem 2 days ago
