Hi Guys, I didn't read the whole post because I knew what the fault was straight away.
There is a one-way, or check valve in the secondary air injection system. It gets full of condenstaion, then starts to rust inside and blocks the secondary air injection system. On the 111 engine it is located down at the back of the engine on the right hand side. It's a bitch to replace the first time you do it and if you don't have the tools.
This is definately the most common repair and I have seen many many over the years, I would start by replacing this. Poster GerdH above is right on the ball! Thats exactly what to do. I use a 27mm crowfoot that I have grinded down to do this job specifically. It's really awkward and is really really tight too!
Good Luck!

I had the same issue beginning of the year. Had a couple of sensors replaced. MAF replaced and was even told by the indy mechanic that I need to replace my supercharger. Bought it back to the stealership and they found out it was blown gasket. Cost to replace the part $3 bucks. Labor $120 , but only after I've spend more than a grand on the replacing other crap that was working fine in the beginning.

If you mean that mumbling muffler's noisy for the first 30 sec. or so, then no. That noise is still present. It became softer though but I still hear it.
I think this is normal because, one way or another, there is more air coming through the exhaust system and that is causing the generation of that mumbling sound.

Volunteer,
Thank you so much for the speedy reply and help on this thread!
I followed your step by step instructions in the active link on pg 2, which were great btw!!!
However I was confused, just a bit. I read how one of the green tubes, sorry for the lack of mechanical jargon, is supposed to have suction, but did you mean both tubes on the picture?
