Default Cold idle problem

My 74 450SL idles at about 1700 RPM until temp reaches 175 degrees. Can anyone tell me if this is nornal and if not what can I do about it? Idle is normal (750RPM) after engine warms to 175. I have changed the air cleaner and coolant temp sensor with no change. 1700 RPM seems a little high to me. Thanks for any help.

I'm sure since its a '74 its a carb. engine and not TBI/FI. Try adjusting the idler screw on the carb. Its as simple as turning a screw in or out to raise or lower the idle speed. Really simple.

My 74 does not have a carb. It has electric fuel injection. Thats why I can,t figger out how to adjust the cold idle.I do know how to adjust the warm idle but can,t find anything in the manual that tells me how to adjust the cold idle. Maybe it,s not possible but if it isI sure would apprecaite any help someone can provide. Thanks
