Default 1989 300SE Fuel Pump question

Hello everyone, as you see per the title I have an 89 300se that isn't getting any fuel to the motor. I want to buy a new fuel pump and wanted to know if it is located inside or outside the fuel tank? Also are they easy to replace? I can only start the car if I pour a little fuel into the carburator and then it quits after about 2 seconds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, John

The pump is outside of the tank, easy to replace and may need new fuel hoses due to the age. Check the fuel pump relay, very problematic! I am not sure if this has it but some cars had tandem pumps, two fuel pumps located next to each other.
