Hi Everyone. As usual, I am always looking at interesting information about Mercedes diesels. The other day I saw that the highest recorded mileage on a Mercedes Diesel was in Greece by a taxi driver named Gregorios Sachinidis.

Mr. Sachinidis bought his 1976 240D with 220,000 Kilometers in Germany and drove it to Greece to use as his taxi. The car was retired with 4.8 million verified kilometers.

It is now locatedin the Mercedes Benz Museum collection. Unbelievable. And one more tidbit, they gave him a brand new C200 CDI in return. Great Story.

SO, LETS DO A POLL, TO SEE WHAT THE MILEAGE ON EVERYONE'S CAR IS IN THE FORUM? I thought it would be interesting. I will start.

1987 300SDL, 91,500 miles.

 

4,800,000 km/6 engines x 5 miles/8 kilometers = 500,000 miles/engine. This is thevery reason I bought my 123's. If they can stand up to taxi abuse, they can take anything I can dish out.

 

That is some serious milage that he has on it 2.5 million miles.Well mycurrent1984 300SD clocked in 276,201mi and still runs like new!!! And also where do u get those milage badges.

1984 190D 93,000 miles when 1st engine died
2ndengine now at 107,000 miles, needs valves adjusted and a ping from the top front of the engine(cylinder 1)looked at.....sigh

 

hey AMGMercedes Had any luck selling your 190D.

 

There were a few people who looked at it and all of which complained about a lack of power, but come on..it's got only 75hp! I think I'm going to keep it for a few more months then trade it in for something new.

 

Is a stick right??? You should get more pick up than an auto anyways I am interested but...( i am a 190Eand 190D Fan) Oklahoma to Maryland its just too far!!![:@]

Yes, they need to verify that you actually have the mileage on the vehicle. Very simple process. Just call them before hand and tell em that you need them to verify your mileage for a Mercedes Benz High Mileage form. Shouldn't be a problem. If it is, let me know, because we will get the Mercedes head office a call in Jersey....
