largest 17" tire for '94 E320

All,
What is the largest (non-rubbing) 17" tire that will fit on a '94 E320 Wagon. I am looking at used 17" SL500 rims with 245/45/17 - and I think they may fit on the rear only..?

I actually did the same exact thing on my 2002 E320 Wagon and the tires don't rub.
I may go a tad narrower now that I need to replace them.
