One rule is if you dont know how to work on it urself the worst Mercedes to buy is one that needs work. Make sure all electrical parts work or you may find urself or a high priced mechanic chasing ground problems. They suck. But i would go for the 500sel if u want a w126 that is between 81-85 or go for the 420sel or a 560sel if u like the 86-91 w126 380's dont have much power.

That seem's to be 1 of a few problematic things going on w/ my 1984 380 se. I have checked the previous forums but nothing seems to match mine per say. Basically the Idle is on & off. Idle, between low @ 550 & high as high as starting off @ 1700 -2000. Tough on the transmission shifting from park to drive. W/ a noticable serge noted on the oil pressure gauge and is changed w/ ac turned on and off . Very sporadic, just seems to change randolmy. If you are out there Sleepwalker or blackwolf, please help me! I think that my newby status might have put this in the wrong place, but please help.

Its best to list questions under general tech or s-class for your model.
