Hi, im new here and my grandfather gave me a 1980 230CE. He said something about it being a prototype because it has special factory ground effects and irs. It is an actual european car that was imported. can anyone give me info on this car. ill post pics and a vin asap.

got some more info, the cae is actually a 1979, but it was unveiled in a 1980 auto show. It has a I-4 motor and the ground effects were made by cramer (might be Kramer, im not sure)

not much to translate.

first 3 is the type, second 3 is the model, 7th steering left or right hand version (1 for left and 2 for right), 8th transmission type (0 standard and 2 for automatic), last 6 is the production series (or serial number).
