Having a trauma. On first start, the car will always catch, but then die. After this, it'll just turn over without catching for a good 10 mins on / off. It'll eventually start, on about the eigth attemp, leaving breaks in between. Any ideas, as to what the root cause could be anybody?? The car has 165k on the clock, but with a full service history & drives like new!! Here's hoping!!!

 

first you must determine if it is ignition or fuel related.

 

I'm intigued ,i am having same problem! on my 230te 1987
I have established i am getting a spark when i encounter these symptoms .
So i would guess its fuel related .
