Default 190e transmission issues

Hey all- new to the forum- new to my 190.
I’ve got a 1992 190e 2.3- auto and that trans is having some issues.
The car jerks violently into reverse- takes a second to find the gear and then engages. Warmed up or cold- either way, I’ve got to stand on the brake to brace for it- tires will even chirp when engaged.

anyone seen this? Any advice? Thanks!

Have you checked the fluid? I believe low fluid could cause that. In addition, it could be one of the spring sets in the trans, I'm new to my 190e and I fortunately have a walking encyclopedia of old mercs at my disposal and he helped me replace the upshift spring in my trans (super easy btw) and that helped out with my car's upshift issues.
