I'm lucky, both of my parents were good cooks and taught my brother and I well.

Does anyone remember the "galloping gourmet"? It aired in the 60's and 70's. The first national men's cooking show. Now we have the Food Network. Cooking is very popular.

I find it very difficult to eat out well without spending a fortune. Just getting lunch without eating garbage is almost impossible.

 

Graham Kerr, the Galloping Gourmet. He was more like a prancing gourmet.

I can make an $80 restaurant meal for $15 at home. It's great.

 

I did say it was "a men's" cooking show. He is talented though.

 

Yeah, entertaining too. Luckily, men don't have to prance nowadays to host cooking shows. I like most of today's shows.

 

They prance on the home improvement and decorating shows instead.

 

They sure do.

 

In the US -- the freest country of all -- there are many things you cannot do inside your house simply because the government had made them illegal. Here are a few example of those things that are harmless to other people:

...leaving a mark while spanking your child. (never was a good idea, and you can get arrested)

...using a room without windows as a bedroom.

...conspiring (discussing with anyone) the overthrowing of the government or any other federal crime. These are thought crimes.

...not answering investigating questions by any law enforcement officer who is a guest in your home.

...while a minor, having sex with another minor.
