Hey guys. I've just recently sold my Alfa, which was my pet project to restore and tune. I know they aren't the highest end cars but I loved my Alfie, and I must say when I was done she was very very nice. Anyhow, I'm now looking for a new MB project car. Something in the small roadster line. I'm thinking of a mid 60s to early 70s SL. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm fairly new to the MB world so I'm not sure about what might be best, in the way of parts availability, ease to work on, collectability, etc.

I think just about anything you tackle will be nice .. if you can get your hands on an old 60's pagoda that would make a great project. As for parts, Mercedes stocks just about everything for old cars in their Classic Center. A good friend of mine runs the Classic Center's parts department ... and he can find anything ... but it won't be cheap. Good Luck.
