I'm Back

I'm Back
Had the knee operation this past Friday, everything went pretty much OK. Only snag the surgeon had was the torn ligament. When he got into my leg, it was torn a lot worse then the MRI showed. So me had to make two more incisions and cut off the ends of the ligament that was torn and stretched it together and sutured it. He said after the surgery that I probably will have a pulling sensation in the back of my knee for a long time.
I thought I never get the knee fixed. I had to cancel the operation twiice due to a cold I had that wouldn't go away. Doctors don't like to operate on people who are sick with colds, as the chance of infection gets higher.
Today is the first day I am walking around the house. But I will need bed rest until May 2 when the stitches come out. The doctor is sure the recovery will be 100%. It also might help my back and I think it has. The califed tumor was pressing against the sciatic nerve and this could be the reason my lower back has almost crippled me for the past 5 months or so. Perhaps the fall on the ice and the damage to my knee was a blessing in diguise?

Good luck on the mend, Allen. Many, many years ago, I had ligament surgery -back when thy made huge ugly scars for such operations-and the knee has always functioned perfectly since. Now days, they must know so much more and do and even better job.
