Rear cig lighters
Hi all I`m new here and appologize if this is a repeat question. I would like to use the rear cig lighter plugs for standard 12 volt plugs, but they dont fit properly.Does anyone make an adapter,or failing that how hard is it to remove the wierd size recptical and replace it with a standard American size ?
Thanks in advance
PS my new car is a 2001 Mb 430 50,000 miles Black with java interior. It`S spotless and has adequate power and gets between 25 to 26 mpg.We like it so much we`ve given it a name " Ole Blackie'" first car we`ve named in years, I guess we`ll keep it awhile.
My wife and I both love it. Wife drives an Audi A-6 2.7,but here lately she seems to prefer the Mb.
Since she`s been getting used to the MB she thinks something is wrong with her car ,and now she complains that she can hear the engine,so there must be something wrong. I told her the only thing wrong with the A-6 is it aint Blackie.
Thanks in advance

RE: Rear cig lighters
The rear outlet in NOT for cigarette lighters. Those would require ceramic insulators, what the axillary outlets lack. I assume, that the problem you have is with short socket and plugs falling off?
Know the issue. I am caring lot of gadgets plug into 12V. Got one adapter/splitter, that is having 2 outlets on tilt-able panel and the main plug is having sliding collar to secure it in the socket.
Bought this at truck gas station.
