Purchase 2003 S600?
Hello all:
I am new to the forum and am preparing to purchase my 1st Mercedes. With a need for speed I am looking at a 2003 S600 sport with 74k miles. I know that maint can be much$. I have considered S55s, and E55s but I am not sure I can pass on this S600. It has most, if not all options, clean carfax and appears to be well maintained. It looks like I can get a bumper to bumper 4 year 48k mile warranty for $3500. The best part of the deal is the seller is willing to part with it for approx $38,000. If anyone has addl info on the car, or serious maint issues to consider, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again

Sounds like an excellent price considering MSRP! Just get a check if it' been in any accidents. Also request maintainence reports if they have any. Welcome to the site, you're about to be one of us now

Ye man i agree "great deal" price sounds very cheap. Merc is a great car, I would check some of major issues like water damage and electronic components. Just make sure that everything works. Good luck to man you going to love it.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I did check the carfax and it was fine...1 owner no accidents or any other flags. The seller picked it up at a local auction from a MB dealer trade. I will look at the car closer Wednesday. It drove excellent, oil and valve cover was very clean. I suspect highway miles at 24k per year. Thanks for tip on water damage and electrical. I will inspect underside or car and test as many elect items as I can. As I mentioned, a bumber to bumber warranty is online. Many other warranties are not going to cover the long list of items on that car. The local MB dealer here in suburban StL MO (Tri-Star) just gave it a once over and replaced some tranny sensors. My dad has owned Benzs since his senior year in H.S.! He now has a 98 SL500 sport that trumped my 95 Q45...now its my turn!
