Hi...I once owned what was supposed to be a 1959 MB 219. It was not a fintail, had a six cylinder, DOHC , dual carburated motor and a four speed manual transmission on the column with an electric clutch arrangement for the top three gears.. The most prominent thing I recall about the car was its amazing top end, I was an American V8 dragracer and completely blown away by the cars ability to cruise comfortably at 90mph for hours. It also had the most beautiful, huge, round driving lamps beside that stately grille. It was expensive and difficult to repair in 1970 and I traded it for a VW bus...I know, please, no rocks. I've not seen another and look monthly in Hemmings and on the net, just from curiosity. I'm currently cornering the market on Cavalier and Sunbird convertibles, fun and cheap and the kids can afford to drive 'em. Time may have corrupted some of my memories, so if anything sounds weird, please, let me know. Nice to meet you all and thanks for your help...Dave
