old school newbie
i'm new to this forum as of today. i've had my MB about a year now, its a 1979 German market 280ce and i loved it from day 1. i was amazed that a 25 yr old car could be so tight and solid. my plans for it are to turn it into a real pavement scorcher, i think its a great platform to start with: 3200 lbs, inline 6, 4 wheel disk brakes etc. i'm finding though that theres no aftermarket and i'm going to have to do it all myself. so far ive got: koni shocks, lowered 1", 2-1/2" dual exhaust, 18 x 8 wheels. does anyone know of sources for performance parts for cars this old? i'm looking for brakes and sway bars in particular. also in the works is a supercharger out of a c230. i have heard that the k-jetronic mechanical f.i. is capable of handling boost and in fact saw an audi at P.I.R. that someone had stuck a supercharger on, on top of a k-jetronic system. does anyone have any experience w this? i would also like to replace the 4 speed w a 5 speed, but thats down the road and i dont even know if thats possible. also, how can i get kajtek and lugnut to start fighting?
