New in Tampa Bay area
Hi!
My name is Dave and I am the new owner of a 2001 CLK 430 Cabriolet. Just bought it with 19K miles and it is, of course, like brand new. White with Grey interior and black top. Sharp car that I get many compliments on and I've only owned about 2 weeks. This is my first MB product, and while I've always liked them, I never really took the time to drive one and never seriously considered one before. This time I had decided that I wanted a 99 or 00 SL 500. But after driving this CLK I felt it was a better choice. I've also been told by many that the SL's are much more of a maintenance issue than are the CLK's. Having said that, I still think I'll want to get an SL in a few years, but I'll buy an 03 or newer after they come down in price a bit. For now, I'm very impressed with my CLK. I'm surprised how quick it is and how well it handles. I can't believe I have not owned an MB before. They are awesome!
By the way, I bought my CLK from a dealer in Sarasota, FL called Encore Motorcars. I've known the owner. George, since we were 12 years old (I just hit 40). He runs a class dealership and I'm really impressed with the cars (I've actually bought 5 from Encore over the last few years) and the people who work for him. I don't get anything out of plugging them, but if anyone if looking for a car you should give them a look if you are near Sarasota. Their web site is encoreautos.com, and they sell at lot of Benzes.
I'm really looking forward to being a part of this forum.
Happy Motoring!
Dave
