Default New to this site from NC..

Hey All,
My name is Grant. I'm in Concord NC.. I am the proud owner of a 1993 300E. My Dad bought this car for Mom new from Fort Lauderdale Merecedes in Fla.. Dad passed on a few years ago & I got the car from Mom. Awesome car. Handles great. Plenty of get up & go. The car has just hit 140,000 miles. I just put a head gasket on it. That is about the only thing I have had to do besides the normal up keep. Just bought the wife a new Volvo so now I get to start playing with the Benz! Getting ready to put a cold air intake on, lower the suspension about 2 inches, open the exhaust, & repaint it.
If there any others from North Carolina, let me know. Would love to find a club if there is one.

Great site!

Later...

Grant

Welcome Grant ....enjoy your 300E, but don't do TOO much customization- leave that to the BMW owners........

I agrre with that but what i think he is doing seems taste full. I'd get H&R Springs with Blistien Shocks and an Elsmann(sp?) exhaust. I am not sure how much the intake will do other than just change the sound some.

Do not worry. I am not going to go overboard. ( pimp my ride!!) The only change to the outside will be rims & a front air dam. The wife hit a small animal ( Cat, Dog, or BMW owner )(LOL)2 years ago and broke the front corner of the bumper cover. I would like to find a Zender air dam if they are still around. My rims will stay 15inch. I am going with a BBS syle mesh rim. I am old school. I hate big rims I'm sorry. I see customers come in the shop I manage all day with the huge wheel & tire combo. I thought the whole idea of aftermarket rims were to be lighter & stronger. Those things weight a ton.

That is all what I'm wanting to do plus the other mods I already spoke of. Already changed out the factory stereo. Factory amp gave out. So now I have a factory remaned head unit ( cass. am, fm) , plus the factory 6 disc changer for the trunk I guess I will sell.

Later...

Grant
