Just saying hello. I've transfered over from the Corvette Forum since I've traded in my 01 Z06 for a new E55 AMG.

Today was the first time I test drove an AMG and I knew from the second I hit the throttle, I was hooked. I told my saleswoman I'd take it before I even started back to the dealership. Easiest decision I ever made spending money. I pick it up Wednesday and I feel like a 7 y/o waiting for Christmas.

Wishful thinking. Give it a couple of years. The Vette is bound to break.

 

You need to get out of the '70s/80s. It's been hard for Corvettes to shake the image it earned back then. A C6 Z06 would run circles around a new E55. The Corvette would be almost ten car lengths ahead in a 1/4 mile. It would outmanuever it through the twisties. As far as breakdowns, I'll bet the E55 is less reliable. That's what M-Bs are famous for nowadays. Downtime. It won't take two years to go kaput, either.

I agree, but not for cars. Not in America.
