Just joining the group, lots of reading to do as I recently picked up a silver 88,000 mile 2001 SLK 320 and as luck would have it: the real one I have been hoping for, became available a week later. Another 2001 SLK gold, designo, with 36,000 miles. Both are automatics. So now, I have to figure out where to start on these beauties, what maintenance to do, and any potential issues that need dealt with, I am familiar with the the r170 platform as I have had several stepchild crossfires. I just wanted to have a retractable hardtop convertible and the crossfires did not offer that. I have had 5 muscle car ragtops in the past and wanted to do something different. Retired with too much time on my hands, Glad to be part of the group and hope to join in on some events, if there are ever any in Colo or Utah or maybe even New Mexico or Arizona
