Hello everyone.
I am based in UK. I recently bought a 2001 SLK 230 Kompressor with 58K on the clock.
My first Merc, my first convertible and my first automatic. I have wanted an SLK from the first time I saw one, about 16 years ago.
I have previously owned a Peugeot 205 GTI, a Fiat Uno Turbo ie and a Peugeot 106 GTI. All small and fast, but I am a girl, so you get the picture!
I am hoping you guys (or girls) can advise me on a problem with a soft grinding/scraping noise at low speeds, apparently caused by the VVT.
I am a newbie to this site - only joined this morning. I have already left a more detailed post on this subject somewhere, but I can't find it.
Not much hope for me, is there?
