Hi,people.
New member here.Found a lot of useful info here but I have a problem.
My wife's father passed and she acquired his 1989 MB 560SEL.
It has been sitting for a couple years before we got it and drove it home.
The main problem with it is I have to prime the carb to get it to start after it
sits for a while. But when it is running,it runs great. We drove it down to the store the other day.We were in the store for about 15 minutes and when we got back in the car it wouldn't start.I raised the hood, took off the breather cap, pushed down the "choke butterfly" or "horn" and luckily it started.I think the choke may be sticking,I don't know,or maybe it's a vacuum problem....I just bought a bottle of injector cleaner to see if it will help.I also read in another thread about the fuel accumulator. What is it for and what does it do?
Oh,her father has said he was having a problem with the fuel tank float also.
One more thing: I know it says premium fuel only.Would it really hurt to use mid-grade 89 octane instead??
Thanks a bunch.
