Bought a 1985 300SD couple years ago. Needed an oil pan and engine mounts along with some front end parts. Came originally from Florida so it has avoided the salt belt for most of its life .Have it in storage for now. Recently bought a 1985 300D from a guy that had it for about 6 years. Been in this area for its life so it has some dreaded salt damage. Has some rust but the engine and trans seem in good contition. Some fixing needed on the vacuum system.Rear end has some noise and I am hoping that it is the flex disc and not the differential.
This forum and web site is great for finding information out about these Mercedes. Hopefully in the future I will help someone else out like you guys and gals have helped me.
