Came upon your organization by pure chance while searching for some assistance concerning my MB 2002 C-240 with a 6 speed manual gearbox.

After 120,000 miles, the "check oil light" sporatically comes on/off regardless of MPH. Coincidently, this happened soon after I had 2 new tires mounted on the front of the car (can't be, could it??). Afterwards, I receive mixed messages on the dashboard such as "visit workshop" or
"have serviced at next interval." When checking to oil level "electronically" per instructions in owner's manual, it indicates that "oil level is OK."

Unfortunately, there is no maual dipstick for this vehicle. I inquired at my local MB dealership and was told that a manual dipstick "tool" is available for $149.00 + 7% sales tax. I find this pricing structure absurd.

Is there anywhere one can purchase such an aftermarket product (if such an animal does indeed exist) at a reasonable price?
