Hi. I'm new to the forum. Of course, as you can tell, I own a Harley, but I just picked up an 88 560SL. Love it! Having a few bugs (see my post on 560 SL temp problems), but it's ALMOST as much fun as a Harley. I'm in Florida, so I'll get a lot of use out of a convertible.

 

aharley1 welcome to the forum. I also am a Harley ('81 Custom Shovel) owner as well as Mercedes ('01 E320). Good to see somebodyelse have the same taste.

It's an older style motor in a swingarm frame. The original call letters were FXEF. A lot of work done to it since, including the cutting and raking (38 deg.) of the frame. The shocks are for looks only. The motor is both kick and electric. She is comfortable for about 30 minutes at a time. It is a solid mounted motor so it vibrates pretty good, but the engine has S&S components, and is running at about 96 inches. It'll smoke any new stock harley out there. Not bad for a 25 year old bike.

 

I have a 99 Heritage Softail....60,000 + on it so far. It has performed flawless. Switched to synthetic oil early on.
