I am new to the Mercedes world of diesels (a former volkswagen diesel owner). What are the advantages or disadvantages of the 3.0L turbo compared to the 2.5 L turbo? In the future I have plans to convert to biodiesel (possibly an '87 300SDL) does anyone have experience in converting that year to biodiesel? Thanks for the visit.

 

hell of a lot more power and they're easier to work on in my experiences.. we have one of both

Definately go for the 3.0 and as for the biodiesel conversion

Hello, I am searching for a used diesel as well. I've found an '82 300d in decent shape I'm considering. I too would like to convert to biodiesel or veg oil. I have heard though, that I will pay very high prices for Mercedes parts compared to a VW or American diesel. Do you find this to be true?
