Hi Everyone...Just wanted to say hello. I'm about to trade in my 2000 Chrysler LHS for a 2003 CLK 430 and just wanted to know if anyone had any advise or comments, whether positive or negative. All comments will be appreciated. Thanks.

 

Good choice the clk is a good car but check for any electrical problems cause if it already has them then they can only get worse. Other than that you will be very happy with the car.

 

Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I haven't signed off on the deal yet but the car is going through an MB Diagnostic to correct the LED display for the outside temperature gauge since it was not displaying as it should. Is this what you would consider an electrical problem?

 

Yeah if the LCD display is bad thats one thing but if its a sensor that could spell future problems. From my research and experience of which models have the most problems the CLk is about in the middle with the e-class. The bad ones are the W203 class, the W220 s class and any Mercedes made in the US M-class, R-class and the new GL-class. I dont bash American cars but German engineering and American building seem not to mix well. Dont worry though ur car is made in Germany. well gtg next reply might not be as quick

 

what is the miles and get a warranty. looking forward to pix s of the new ride

 

mileage is 44,900 and I do intend on getting an extended warranty....any suggestions on the extended warranty?

 

DC be sure to have the wheels pulled and check for roundness....not the tires, the aluminum wheels. Run ins with curbs, etc knock them out of round and it's >$150 each to straighten and >$500 to replace each.........out-of-round affects the ride...
