This my first posting. For a long time I have wanted to own an MB and this Sedan is very sharp. I am looking at a 1988 560 SEL with 141,000. It appears to be in very good to excellent condition and records seem to indicate the same. If anyone has practical knowledge on this class of MB it would be greatly appreciated.
I wish I had crystal ball when it comes to this.
Thank You so much for your thoughts and knowledge.

One thing, I will say if the car has been taken care all these years, these cars are "bulletproof." I would take it to a Mercedes shop either dealer or independent and have all the fluids changed or checked. Have the oil and tranny fluid change and have the others check and topped off if need. Install new plugs, if carbaratored check some carb cleaner and spray into it, if fuel injected, you can check the injectors yourself by getting a long screw driver and placing the end on an injector and the handle next to your ear, if you hear a steady clicking then the injectors are usually OK, if the ticking varies from injectors to injectors have them professionally cleaned, have the brakes checked, you will spend a few bucks but it is well worh it.
