SLK - water at Driver's pedals (??!!)
Hello,
New to the forum (lots of GREAT information), and this is my second question about this car that I am in love with...
The driver's side pedal area is very damp, and there seems to be some water leaking into the cabin from the engine compartment... I was told that it may just be the radiator pan, but may be more serious...there is no coolant, so it is not the heater core...has anyone had this experience with the SLK?
Thanks for any input!
The deadline for a decision is fast approaching and while I know this is a Mercedes, and there will be higher maintenance/repair costs, I just don't want to start out wrong!

the heater box for the air conditioning have a drain or reed valve.
it's on left and right. maybe there is a leak or the pipe is disconnected.
the water is not coolant... it is moisture or condensation from the evaporator.

Thanks for the input, Sleepwalker!
I will get that checked out tomorrow at the dealership and hopefully it just requires clearing out any potential clogs...
I have not had the a/c on, so would there still be water/moisture from the evaporator?

even if you are using the heater, the air will still pass the evaporator to dry the air. the air is then cooled off then heated.
the evaporator got 3 functions:
>cooling
>dehumidifying
>purifying passenger compartment air.
of course i am not totally sure the water leak you found comes from the airconditioning. it's just the possibility that i can guess without seeing the source.
