SLK roof problem

SLK roof problem
I have a 2005 SLK.
The retractable roof will raise and lower with the key, but when I try to lower or raise with console control I receive the following message. " "Retractable roof locked in driving mode". Can someone please help with problem?
I've only owned it for two weeks and not sure I'm doing it correctly
