as i have said before, the crankshaft position sensor cannot inhibit the starter signal.

you problem is: you turn the key and no response at all <<<<<<<<<----- was that right?

fact: even if you remove the CPS, the car will still crank but cannot start.

I did notice that when i turned ignition on sometimes the cooling fan came on?
it did not do this every time i turned key but at odd times including after 2 hours
when I steered car onto flat bed tow truck?

it can't be drive authorization or any anti-theft because the instrument cluster wakes up and stalls when driving. your car got no alarm system according to datacard such as interior motion sensor or anti towing.

let's start with the cheapest part --->>your engine control unit.

there has been a fault on control units produced between 09/02/98 to 02/19/99.

please check the production date stamped on part number label at upper right hand corner of bar code.

example: 980902 means 09/02/98

those faulty control unit have exactly the same problem as you have.

i think the transponder recognize the key and it cuts out while driving!

during that stage, the transponder doesn't play any role.

fasten your seatbelt tightly. you are in for a good ride with the stealership.
