Misted up headlamp clusters
Hi.
Not been coming on here long. And lets face it. I've asked about a few faults to my 2001 Mercedes 230k but feel thats what these forums are surely for..
Boot catch - now cured.
Kompressor noisy- about to be repaired under warranty. Though warned its likely to return with mileage. Would appreciate a reply as to whether that is true?
Now the above fault relating to fogged up headlight clusters?
Is there anything that can be done to cure this known fault to this model?
Only set in in my car in the last week or so. But was aware its a known fault!
Thanks to all who have given me sound advice up to now.
Have to add. Despite all my questions relating to faults.. Love the car to bits. And its because of this i want it looking and running at its best..
Thanks to all
Barry

RE: Misted up headlamp clusters
The seals arond the light lenses to the light body are poor on these. MB used to sell new, not sure if they still do.
Lens comes off easily, a few clips, remove, clean seals, wipe with wd40 to swell the seals a little and replace.
If still a prob later clean again and wipe a smear of non acidic silicone sealer on seals and replace .
DO NOT wipe chrome reflectors with anything. Only blow any dust etc away.
