Default I'M LOOKING FOR A FATHERS DAY GIFT, HELP ME!

Hi All,

I have signed up with a few Mercedes Forums because I'm on a Fathers Day Mission and I'm running out of time!

Fathers day is coming up and my Dad owns a new Mercedes SLK, he is always complaining that when my mom and him go away it's extremely hard to fit anything in the trunk because of the Roof Mechanism.

So for fathers day I have decided to try and find him a luggage set that is made for his car. I've been looking round the internet extensively and managed to find one store that seems to do exactly what I'm looking for.

It's actually an eBay store:

http://stores.ebay.com/RoadsterBag-Luggage-USA

The problem is I know very little about cars, luggage or this company and I'm a little concerned about buying something I know nothing about.

I was talking with a friend of mine and his Dad said the best place to to find out about something like this would be to ask the people that own the cars and that there are forums for this, so here I am!

Does anyone here own this Luggage for their SLK or maybe another car that they do luggage for? if so what is it like?

Or maybe some of you wouldn't mind looking at the site and telling me what you think about this Luggage, price, design etc... as everyone in here will know far more about cars than I do so I trust that you can point me in the right direction.

Any help the members of this forum can give me would be great and if you know of a better product I'm open to suggestions.

How about OEM luggage bag for your dad's SLK?

Thanks for the suggestion K1.

I think someone in another Forum suggested the same Duffle Bag or one similar and it seemed a bit pricey just for the one bag when compared to the 4 piece Luggage set I found on eBay for $245.

Do you have a price and availability for this Duffle Bag?

There's a significant price different between OEM and aftermarket. Price is $299.99 and yes, it's available.

K1,

Thanks again for the suggestion but thats a big difference in price just for one Duffle Bag.

I think so far the RoadsterBag Luggage is the winner based on design and price.

What do other members think of the RoadsterBag Luggage?

looks dull to me.

K1's suggestion is good. corkscrew is using it and it fits like magic.

$300 is a good price for a gift.

your dad might increase your allowance to cover the cost

LOL,

SleepWalker I don't know if I agree.

Dull compared to a plain black duffle bag I don't think so, Dull compared to a beautiful sun set quite possibly!

The $300 Dollars isn't really the issue I am quite happy to spend up and over that for the right gift, it's just a matter of value for money.

For $300 I can buy one plain Black Duffle bag or for $245 I can buy a 4 piece set of custom fitted luggage, in my mind so far the RoadsterBag Luggage is the winner.

But I did come in here to get SLK owners advice and suggestions so please keep posting.
