FOGGED UP WINDOWS
HEY I LIVE HERE IN RAINNY VANCOUVER BC AND I HAVE JUST NOTICED LATELY WITH THE WEATHER THAT WHEN I PARK THE CAR AT WORK IN THE MORNING THE WINDOWS GET FOGGED UP...I PARK THE CAR UNDER GROUND WITH (THE WINDOWS CLOSED). DURING THE NIGHT AND I HAVE CHECKED ALL THE MATS ARE DRY....NO WATER I HAVE EVEN RAN THE AC WITH THE CIRCULATE BUTTON ON SO NO OUTSIDE AIR GETS IN ...ANY IDEAS ...HAS ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS..

RE: FOGGED UP WINDOWS
Leave the roof down....just kidding. Although, maybe you should try lowering one window a bit to "normalize" the inside/outside temps. Sounds like a dew point issue.

RE: FOGGED UP WINDOWS
Usual cause of fogging windows (apart from the suggestions already put forward) is when the A/C evaporator drain is blocked.
You don't ident vehicle type...someone suggested SLK?... S Class are extremely prone to the A/C plenum (air inlet) drain being blocked but it is usually the evaporator chamber drain. Does the fog clear with the A/C running? with and without recirc selected? Stuart |
RE: FOGGED UP WINDOWS
I have a 2003 SLK-230
Whenever I start it up, the AC blows a HOT, incredibly HUMID blast for about 4 minutes. It's so humid, it fogs up all the windows until the AC cools down and starts to defrost things. (Oh, I'm in San Diego and it's "summer") I suspect that the evaporator drain is clogged. How can I get to it? Does anyone know where I can access it? From the inside? From the outside? Rick |
