Check Engine Codes
In reading some of the post on this forum I see mention of
these "codes" when the check engine light comes on.
My questions are:
How do I access these codes, where to view and how.
Where is a list translation list one I obtain the code ?
Thanks for the help in advance

RE: Check Engine Codes
Tom,
In the North America, if that's were you are from (I like the stealth mode, keeps us all guessing)there's a 16 pin connector right behind the hood release. If you have one of those, you can pickup an OBD2 scanner from just about any auto supply store and most will work with MB (keep the receipt) and all let you read and reset codes. The more expensive ones can read sensors and provide generic text messages, depends on how much diagnostics you want to do. I use PC software from obd-2.com that works well for me, a little more expensive but I can log sensors and keep the information for later review. I have a list of codes on my website at buellwinkle.com
