Dear all

I'm new to the forum but have a UK SLK on order and need to make a decision fast on whether to go for the factory installed phone kit or pre-wiring. I don't like the idea of trying an aftermarket product which I'm guessing wouldn't interact with the mutli function steering wheel/ audio etc like the MB version. But a nokia 6310i is way too old. What I want is something that will interact with my Sony Ericsson T610 eg via bluetooth. Apparently BMW are on the page but MB is 2 years away from an official product.

Do I
1. go with pre-wiring and hope the right interface comes out for my phone of choice, or
2. go with 6310i because it's an all-in-one solution and will work, or
3. hope that the technology is developed and someone can neatly fit an aftermarket

What advice can you give me?

Bluetooth is certainly the way to go. You should also be able to use any phone.
