Ever since i recently bought my '98 SLK200 the instrument cluster indicates the outside temperature is -38 degrees celcius. I believe there is something wrong with the sensor or the cable to it, but i have no idea where it's located. Can someone explain where i should start looking?

The temp sensor is located in the lower grille, its a tiny black probe that just barley sticks out of the grille.
