windows will not rise - 560SL
I have a 1987 560sl and we have driven it all summer with the top down. We just went to put the top up in preparation for storing it for the winter and found that neither window will rise. No sound, no mechanical noise- just nothing. I checked the two fuses and they appear fine. Is there a central control that would prevent the windows from rising or do you have any idea what would cause it?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes, could be a fuse even if it looks good. My radio quit and I was looking at fuses and I kept over looking one that had sort of bent looking metal. When I took it out I saw it wasnt touching because it had bent away from the terminal. These were the old style VW fuses I call them but probably just bosch. I like those kind because you can see easier if they are blown. Anyway, I just bent it back and all was fine. Mine was a SL500.

I have recently had the same problem. I have purchased the new center console switch, but I can not seem to open the console. Have you had any experience with this??? I may try to replace the fuses too to see if this has any effect.

I too am having a similar problem.
Not only do my windows not work but my directionals and dash gauges are also dead.
BUT, the radio, headlights, engine management system, emergency flashers, interior lights & dash lights DO work.
This all happened overnight.
Everything was fine yesterday.
Haven't found the problem yet but I will post if I do.
I suspect something wrong either with the fuseblock or a wire feeding it since there seem to be at least 3 ckts affected.
I checked the voltages at the fuseblock and found many of the fuses without voltage present at either end including fuse #13 which feeds many of the affected items.
