1995 500 SL R129
I saw a similar problem on another forum but no answer. I could remove the clamp ring but not the bulp. It isn't stuck and moves a little bit - almost like there is a spring or something holding it. Anybody any idea?

is there a retaining ring holding the lamp in place?

 

Yeph - it was a sticky orange rubber ring. I tried hard to get the whole thing out without braking it and eventually it came out.

I didn't want to use W40 as I didn't want to get any oil into the light. It worked out all well.
