Default Storing for winter

Hi,

I'm about to store my 1993 600SL for the winter and was wondering if anybody had good advice on how best to go about it. I've been advised to overinflate the tires so they won't get flat spots, which I think makes sense. Anybody know how much pressure to put in?

I've also received conflicting views on whether to leave the battery in and hooked up to a trickle charger, or take it out of the car altogether. The reason I've been given for leaving it hooked up is that leaving the car without power for extended periods can mess up the electronics. Anybody know if there'struth to that?

Thanks, Rick

Hi!
I would go for leaving the battery connected and hooking on a charger, for the reason you mentioned. Remember to clean the poles of the battery, and check the level of water in the cells (if you have an old fashion battery).
I have also heard that it is wise to over inflate the battery, but I don't know to wich level.

I have always done is leave the battery in with all extras turned OFF (ac/radio ect) and start it once or twice a week. If you do this make sure you start it everyweek and dont forget. It has alwasy worked great on all of my cars.
