Symptoms : Engine cranks but won't start. No fuel pump signal when the key is turned to the first notch for the start.

I towed the car for eight hours on a tow dolly, trans disconnected... reattached the trans here, pulled it off of the dolly and took it down the road for half mile when started hestitating like it wasn't getting any fuel -as when you are running out of gas, but the tank was two thirds full. I pulled into a driveway to turn around and it stopped completely and had to have it towed back to the house. It cranks fine but will not turn over.

Where is the fuel pump located on this model and how much will an electric fuel pump cost, if that's the problem? It has never, ever failed to start, until now. Could it be something more simple?

what year is it? how does it just idle? if it's a 129 it will be located under the car on the passenger side just ahead of the rear axel. check wiring and for damage under there from the tow. it will be a double pump above a cover. might check or replace the fuel filter first, but replace anyway if replacing the pumps. at autohausaz.com it will cost about $270 for the two pumps and the filter is $15 to $21.. early model 129s have self diagnostic features for the electrical. overload relay, fuel pump relay, crank position sensor are other possiblities. but check for damage first.
