R129 Oil Leaking Out Floor Feet Vents??????????
Here is whats been happening.
For the past 6 months my AC has not been working. I charged it up during the summer it lasted for about 5 days then stopped working. Ive been driving it for the past 6 months without AC (rain, snow, sun, -2 degree weather and +10 degree weather) NEVER have the windows fogged up.
Im driving the car last week in, wasn't raining nice sunny day put the heater on and noticed the windows were fogging up very badly on the passenger side and rear window.
Now its when I have the defrost on pointed at the windshield I get lots of heat but the windows fog up so bad I cannot see out the windshield.
On the weekend I was cleaning out the car, cleaning the windows and vacuuming it when near the feet vents were there is a very strange very oily liquid coming out...NEVER seen this before. Any one have any ideas?!!!

It sounds like a couple problems. There is a drain hose for the evaporator water that maybe plugged up. You will have to go under the car and run a wire up the hose and see if you can break loose the clog. It comes down towards the middle of the dash at the front of the transmission. The mositure on your windshield maybe from the heater core leaking or the evaporator water not draining out the hose. does the oil have any color to it? the coolant would be green, orange, or blue. if it's mineral oil, which is clear, leaking, that would indicate it is most likely coming from the evaporator and due to the fact your hose is probably plugged the oil instead of running out the drain hose is coming out your vents. The oil leak would also tell you that you probably lost your freon and that's why your airconditioning isn't working. If that's the case, the evaporator shouldn't be gathering any mositure/frost and the vapor on on the windshield may be from the heater core. The oil could be a mix of mineral oil and coolant. it could be both the evaporator and the heater core are bad. I had my evaporator go bad so while my technician was in there I had him replace the core at the same time. Where I like to tackle most jobs myself, this is one for the experts. The whole dash has to come out and is very labor intensive. It cost me over $2,500 to fix. So if the problem is one or the other, do both so you don't have go back in to replace the other later and they'll clean the drain while they are in there.. unplugging the hose yourself may be a temporary fix for the mositure on the windshield and move the oil leak to the outside of your car. if it's the heater core as long as you use the heater it's going to steam up. How's your coolant level?

The oil is clear and very sticky. I will check these drain tubes tonight. If i can prolong replacing either the evaporator or the heater core I will its just odd how it was all of a sudden I started having problems.
mineral oil and coolant are not sticky. they are fairly thin. I'm not sure of their properties when mixed. as far as I know, those are the only two things that could possibly be leaking oil unless the hydraulic oil from your top latch cylinders is somehow working it's way down the windshield pillars into the vents without showing leaks at the pillar trim, that is unlikely and even that is not sticky. another one for the books. let us know the final outcome of this mystery. remember, if you have to go in for one or the other or both, replace both regardless.
