I removed the hardtop sometime ago and just went to put it back on for the first time. I followed the instructions in the manual but it seems that the two rear latches are being stopped from going all the way down. Is it possible that they are already in lock position.

I tried to follow the manual's emergency procedures for overriding the electrics, but it shows the spanner being applied somewhere near the trunk hinges but when I had a look there did not appear to be any bolts there. Does anyone have any advice?

 

The catch is between the softop compartment cover and the anti-roll bar on the right hand side of the car.
