Unhappy Problem with wing flaps on trunk, making it impossible for the top to operate

2004 SL600 15K miles. The little paddle / wing things don't sit flush like they should, so I am getting the go to workshop message. I was able to make it work by taping it flush so the sensor would not trigger.

Is there a trick or something to get those to close all the way flush or a quick fix?

FYI I had the same problem in 2007 and they fixed it under warranty.

Thumbs down Flaps

Just had mine fixed to tune of $775. Had to replace motor and get everything properly adjusted. Seems to be a common problem as place I took it to had just done one a few days earlier. Sorry for bad news.
